ABOUT LOVIETTA
Lovietta Simpkins is best-known for being a passionate Artist & The Founder of Envision & Wonder, a Independent Publishing Company in Chicago. She is an Imaginative Conceptual thinker, local Creative Consultant & Artist residing in Chicago, Lovietta's work is vibrant and she is a highly skilled Illustrator, Concept Artist,Storyboard Artist, Graphic Designer, Brand Developer, and Fine Artist.
Born in Chicago Illinois November 22 to Sheila & Augustus Simpkins. She has one younger sister Leevette Simpkins. Initially Lovietta got her start at the tender age of 3. Not drawing on walls but on notebook paper. They were these weird mutated half dog half human looking things that she thought were the coolest drawings ever.Since that day art has always played a pivotal role in Lovietta's life. Since then she has developed a working knowledge of traditional ( acrylic, oils, inks,watercolor, pencils, markers, chalk, oil pastel, clay, all surfaces,and sizes) & digital technology ( Adobe Creative suite programs:Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, After Effects, Lightroom, CorelPainter, Microsoft Programs: Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Pc & Mac Platforms, Cyberlink PowerDirector 11 and Sony DVD Architect Studio) necessary to create effective design solutions for both large and small clients.
Lovietta started school at Ryerson but it was Morse Elementary where her love of science and art were brought together. She went to Crane HS for middle school then obtained her High School Diploma in three years after skipping her sophomore year in Lane Tech College Prep (2007). Soon after Lovietta decided to become a artist and she graduated from college with Bachelors of Fine Art in Illustration within Art & Design from Columbia College Chicago (2011).
The road has been long and she has hit some snags but so far Lovietta has created custom illustrations, designed posters, flyers,sample campaigns, business cards, brochures, developed logos, and brand identities. Lovietta has also put together presentations, landing pages, and visual web design.
In 2015 Lovietta published a book with Envision & Wonder entitled, "Winter Wish," that is currently available for purchase. It's a childrens book about a little bear in search of a friend.

2016 marks Lovietta's biggest leap though, she started a Gofund Me Campaign to help support her publishing company, Envision & Wonder, push for 10 books to be released in the next six months. She also became one of Fulton Street Collectives Artist and has a Art Studio at 401 north Paulina, Chicago, IL Studio P32.
Lovietta works great Cooperatively & Independently but is not afraid to take the lead in any project, or even take direction from another. Her familiarity with administrative duties and adaptability in any given situation no doubt would be an asset to any creative team. She's also worked in retail as a Customer Service Sales floor associate, utilized her talents as a designer as well as interpersonal attributes in order to develop departments, signage,ticket merchandise, work numerous departments, direct groups, answer customer concerns & questions via phone & in person, concept and execute visual marketing & sales merchandising. She has also worked in Security. Lovietta has trained and Supervised small and large groups of employees.
She has excellent verbal & written communications skills as well. Employees, Customers and Creatives matter to her. Lovietta is in the business of creating solutions, sharing her vivid imagination and always encouraging other creative's' to challenge themselves.

In 2006 a selection of her Poetry was published in the Fzine Magazine of School of the Art Institute of Chicago.That year Lovietta was also first choice selected to participate in Leroy Neiman's Master Classes in Figure Drawing for high school students, at SAIC. 2006 Sept. 30 she received Leroy Neiman's Master Classes in Figure Drawing Certificate of Recognition. In her college years the young artists "Self" Piece was showcased in Columbia College Chicago's MilleFest Fall 2007. The following year June 6, 2008, Lovietta was one of Artbistro's Featured Artist. That year also marked another milestone, a Exhibition at Murphy Hill Gallery & Garfield Market with Phantom Gallery plus a showcase at North Austin Branch Library in September.
During college in 2009 Lovietta expanded her reach and became a Illustrator for Columbia Colleges' Echo Magazine and competed several inserts for articles. She even participated in a collaborative student project with a writer Patrick Trahey and designer Deanna Paker creating a illustration for a Zine Columbia publication entitled "Dirge." Lovietta was also a active member of National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Not to mention October 1, 2009 Artist/ Exhibitor for America Scores Chicago's Inspired Art Project. She took part in a Charity Auction Art Project for youth, creating a painting inspired by poem #12 entitled, "I am." It was about a boy inside of a wolf and the young artist took a visually vivid and stunning approach, combining illustration with abstraction.
March 10, 2010 Lovietta participated in the International Student Organizations Annual World Enigma "Expression" as a Exhibiting Artist. That year she even became Senior Artist and Illustrator for upcoming PennPointComics organization. 2011 was the turning point for her career and she became a Concept Artist for Columbia College Chicago Practicum Film "The Devils Crossroads." For that project she created full blown storyboards and concept art. Upon graduation from Columbia College Chicago in 2011 Lovietta Simpkins received her Bachelors of Fine Art in Illustration within Art & Design. Her senior showcase was featured in Manifest Urban Arts Festival and apart of the Fine Art Exhibition at Creative Gallery in Columbia College Chicago.
After graduation, with a much needed break and many job searches her course took on familiar territory and on September 2011 through February 2012 Lovietta held a solo show at Bucktown Beanry as their Featured Artist & Exhibitor.
